Why we chose it
We chose this 5 1/12 Cuisinart saute pan because it offers great features and its price point is somewhat in the middle ground among its competition in this list. We understand a lot of people thoroughly enjoy stainless steel based appliances as well. It does offer a non-stick finish on the interior as well.
Biggest Concern
The biggest concern about this saute pan among customers seems to be that its stainless steel sides are a bit thin. Some customers have reported the pan warping a bit over time, although its a very small percentage of reviewers that report this problem.

Why we chose it
This Cooks Standard came in as a very close second in our list. We loved it that much. Overall, its non-stick coating works well and it actually lasts. It offers a very sturdy feel and heats up quickly due to the aluminum base. The pan itself can withstand oven temperatures of 450°F, although the lid can only handle 350°F. Overall, this could very well be the go to large saute pan for many people looking for the best options.
Biggest Concerns
Overall, there are hardly any complaints on this saute pan. It actually has the highest satisfaction rate of any pan on this list. The few that have complained have mentioned the pan bowing on the bottom, making it a bit harder for that nice, even cook. We’re not sure if this is caused by a manufacturing defect since it happens on a very infrequent basis.

Why we chose it
Lets make one thing clear: when it comes to quality, this saute pan takes the cake. The only reason its down to number three in our list of top 5-quart saute pans, is because we make price a factor as well. That being said, if you’re willing to shell out for the best premium saute pan, this is the clear choice in our opinion. Its beautiful to look at, extremely durable, and easy to clean.
Biggest Concern
Outside of some feeling this saute pan is over priced, the only concern by some is the handle. Some feel its too rounded and doesn’t offer enough grip to hold properly. It still comes with a helper handle on the opposite side of the extended handle.

Why we chose it
5 quart saute pans are so large, they’re usually pretty pricey to manufacture. That being said, we still tried to find the best budge saute pan we could. Enter this model. While it may not offer the overall quality some of the other options on this list, its still a great overall 6qt saute pan. Like the others in the lid, it comes with a helper handle as well as a shatter proof lid. It even comes in multiple colors if you have something specific in mind. Overall, the nonstick surface works better than you may think given its price point.
Biggest Concerns
We have two core concerns with this farberware saute pan. The first is that it uses plastic handles and knobs. This prevents it from being used in the oven above 350°F. Secondly, some people have reported the part of the handle that touches the pan will slowly melt away over time, leading to an eventual break. Our second issue with this saute pan is that it scratches easy, even if taken care of properly.

Why we chose it
While we haven’t always been big fans of T-fal in the past, this 5-quart saute pan finishes out our top 5. Overall, we’re not huge believers in its thermo-spot tech. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to us because you’re not supposed to heat up non-stick pans without food in it. Hence, it doesn’t make sense to let the pan heat up to its optimal temperature. Other than that, the non-stick properties seem above average and they’re more scratch resistance than some of its competition on this very list.
Biggest Concern
For whatever reason, T-Fal seems to fail in the packaging department. There have been more claims for dented pans out of the box than anybody else on this list. This should be a non-issue, but I suppose T-Fal found a way anyhow.
Buy on AmazonTips to remember for your 5 Quart Saute Pans
If you’re able to follow these tips with your 5-quart saute pan, you’ll be sure to leave with a better overall experience.
- Note most non-stick pans of any kind should not be put into the dishwasher. Even ones that are marked as “dishwasher safe” can lose its non-stick properties due to the hard wash a dishwasher offers.
- Note a lot of pans offer temperatures a pan can last inside an oven. Those don’t always include the lid. Lids can often handle a max temperature of 350°F.
- Always remember not to focus too hard on negative customer reviews. Every product will have them. When you’re buying a saute pan, yes you should keep them in mind, but also take a look at the overall experience people seem to have.
