Rachael Ray Brights Fry Pan Review
Spread the love

Everybody in the food industry knows Rachael Ray. That being said, it only makes sense that she has her own lineup of cookware. Given her knowledge in the kitchen, it’s only natural to believe if she’s involved in the production of a product, then they must be of high quality. However, it’s not always so black and white. Instead her Rachael Ray 190129 Brights frying pan, as well as a lot of her cookware, offer bright colorful options. Her cookware really make a kitchen pop in color. Her prices aren’t horrible either. Ultimately, we believe this leads to an inferior product, especially with the non-stick coating. Check out our full review of the Rachael Ray 19012 Brights 19012 Frying pan for everything you need to know before making a purchase.

Rachael Ray 19012 Brights Deep Nonstick Frying Pan Review

Overall this Rachael Ray Brights frying pan doesn’t offer any ground breaking features. It comes with standard non-stick frying pan features. That being said, we’ll still cover them to ensure you know exactly what you’re getting yourself into.

Size and Color Options

While there are plenty of different cookware sets or lone frying pans with different colors, there aren’t a lot of pieces or sets where you can choose from multiple different finishes. This all goes away with the Rachael Ray 19012 Brights frying pan. “Brights” is in the name of the product for a reason. There are even other products that offer different sets of colors as well.

The three different colors they offer are Marine Blue, Red, and Sea Salt Gray. In fairness, each of the colors come off beautifully. If you’ve been looking for a cookware set that really shines inside and out, you may not be looking much longer.

In terms of the size of the Brights Non-Stick Frying Pan, the one we are reviewing today is 9.5″. For this specific frying pan, it doesn’t appear a lot of different sizes are offered. However, if you want to stick with Rachael Ray’s Bright lineup, there are quite a few more options. Frying pans appear to go up to 14″ although not all of them offer a lid.

This specific Brights non-stick frying pan comes with a lid. Note that not all of Rachael Ray’s Bright cookware comes with a lid. Overall the lid fits on the frying pan very nicely. Its constructed out of shatter-resistance tempered glass, so it should be fairly difficult to break. Some cooks prefer a lid with a ventilation hole, while others don’t. It’s important to note that this lid does not offer a spot for ventilation.

Depth of Frying Pan

While still being defined as a skillet/frying pan, the Rachael Ray Brights frying pan tries to add to its versatility by creating a deeper pan. This can help cook complete meals with multiple ingredients in the same pan.

The depth of the pan is about 2 1/2 to 3 inches depending on your style of measurement.

Riveted Handles

Most functional frying pans offer riveted handles to ensure the handle isn’t simply going to loosen or break. Rachael Ray’s Bright frying pan is no different. Their handle is constructed with two rivets, and there should be no issue with the handle falling apart during the life span of the frying pan.

Construction Material

Before we get to the non-stick coating, lets cover the colorful exterior. The exterior is made from a two-toned hard enamel. In essence, an enameled coating is constructed out of glass. It’ll bond with the base of your cookware to provide a silky smooth finish.

The non-stick coating is on the inside of the pan of course. We’ve been trying to find a bit more information on the non-stick coating specifically, but given the info we’ve seen on merchant sites as well as the manufacturers site, it’s hard to come up with a precise and accurate answer.

However, we can say the non-stick material is compromised of completely safe teflon. There are no harmful PFOA’s in the non-stick coating.

When it comes to the enameled exterior, we find the durability holds up mostly well. As long as you are hand washing the cookware, you shouldn’t have any problems with the exterior.

However, we feel the non-stick coating isn’t as thick as it could be. This leads to scratches and occasional peeling of the non-stick coating sooner then we would have liked. You could probably find similarly priced frying pans, without the colorful exterior, with better non-stick coatings. Such that come to mind, would be the OXO Good Grips frying pan. You can check the review for that here.

The Rachael Ray Brights Non-Stick Frying pan is compatible with the following cooking methods:

  • Gas Stove Methods:Electric Coil or Plate
  • Electric Stove Methods: Smooth
  • Oven: compatible up to 350°F.
  • Stove Temperature: Recommended to heat from low to medium. Pan heats up quickly and evenly.

The Rachael Ray Brights Non-Stick Frying Pan is NOT dishwasher safe. In general, if you want to dish wash non-stick cookware of any kind, it’s going to fall apart much quicker.

Overall, the Rachael Ray Brights Non-Stick Frying Pan has a very satisfied customer base. People simply love the design of this frying pan, from its flashy exterior to its pan depth. The biggest concern that comes up among customers appears to be with the non-stick coating. It simply isn’t as durable as they’d want, even when performing all the precautionary measures.

When push comes to shove, the Rachael ray Brights frying pan does a lot well. It uniquely offers colorful yet modern exterior finishes. The frying pan’s looks isn’t everything either. This Brights pan also offers a deep pan design for extra cooking versatility. At the end of the day it’s not a perfect frying pan though. Overall, its non-stick coating could use some thickness to prevent scratching and chipping.
