Spread the love

The Utopia Kitchen 11 inch Non-Stick frying pan is truly a great value pan, especially for induction stove tops. From a decent quality build to its nice non-stick properties, Utopia Kitchen does a lot right at a price that feels more than fair. However, at its price point, nothing can be perfect. Even though the frying pan offers riveted handles, we question its overall construction quality. Find out all the info you’re looking for in our latest frying pan review.

Utopia Kitchen 11 inch Nonstick Frying Pan Review

At its price point, this Utopia Kitchen frying pan keeps all its features simple. Its most notable feature is its induction base, which will be a great benefit for induction stove-tops, as it can be difficult to find a quality induction capable frying pan at a fair price.

Riveted Handle

The handle is claimed to have rivets to help keep the handle secure. Clearly, it truly does have rivets. However, if you check out a large number of customer reviews, a very small amount of reviews will mention a wobbly handle over time. We’re not entirely sure if this is due to poorly constructed rivets or a quality assurance issue in the production of this frying pan. Either way, a tiny fraction of buyers will experience issues with a wobbly handle.

Sizing Options

The specific Utopic Kitchen 11 Inch nonstick frying pan is exactly as described: 11 inches in diameter. There aren’t any other sizing options, or so we thought. We were also able to find a specific 3-pan set that offers frying pans of the same exact quality from Utopia Kitchen in sizes of 8″, 9.5″, and 11″. You can find there here.

Unfortunately for some buyers, were weren’t able to find anything above 11″, which may be a deal breaker for those looking for those truly large frying pans.

Induction Base

We’ve actually rated this as our favorite induction base frying pan in our best frying pans guide. It’s because it can be difficult to find a cheaper quality frying pan tailored for induction stove tops. A lot of frying pans that claim to be induction capable aren’t exactly optimized for it, and it could lead to several different problems.

Construction Material

The Utopia Kitchen 11 frying pan uses an aluminum alloy as a lightweight, conductive base.  Because of its induction bottom it performs best with a glass top stove or a traditional gas stove. Overall it heats up extremely quickly.

The interior uses a PFOA, lead, and Cadmium free non-stick coating so you can gaurantee it’s completely safe to use. Although the manufacturer doesn’t quantify exactly how the non-stick quality is created, they do inform you that you should only hand wash the pan and use softer utensils.

When it comes to the durability of any non-stick frying pan, it almost always comes down to the non-stick properties. Do they last? Will they scratch, peel, fade, or flake? Given the price point of the Utopia Kitchen fry pan, you shouldn’t expect the absolute best in terms of the durability of its non-stick properties. Depending on use frequency, care, and what is cooked on the pan itself, it may last anywhere from 6 to 18 months before you start to see the pan start to flake. However, if you don’t take care of the pan by following bad practices, you can expect a much shorter life span. Dish washing and metal utensils are two big no-no’s when it comes to non-stick cookware. How long this pan truly lasts is ultimately up to you.

Outside of the non-stick properties, the biggest durability concern has more to do with the manufacturing process. Overall, there aren’t many complaints about this frying pan overall. We have the occasional complaint the non-stick coating, but that’s every frying pan. More interesting, some users mention a loosened handle or a pan that warps slightly over time. We believe this could be less of an issue with the durability of the pan itself, but more of a production line quality assurance issue.

As we mentioned above, the biggest concern about the pan isn’t regarding the pan itself. Instead, its about the very rare issue with quality assurance while the pan is being massed produced. There have been an occasional customer that will run across an issue with a handle that loosens or a pan that is oh so slightly wrapped.

It’s very unlikely to happen, however, it’s important to note because it’s still a possibility.

Overall, the Utopia Kitchen 11 inch non-stick frying pan offers more quality at a lower price than most of its competitors. Even rarer, its specialized more for induction stove tops. While “you get what you pay for” is somewhat true when buying a cheaper frying pan, this frying pan seems to surpass most of the expectations people have for it. Clearly, it does a lot right. Even so much so, we’ve placed it as our favorite induction pan in our best frying pan guide.
